AUGUST MARKET NEWS :
Tomatoes and Corn are in!! Come celebrate 'locally grown' with us as markets all over the state observe Massachusetts Farmers' Market Week, August, 17-23. The Hingham market will be celebrating on Saturday, Aug 23rd with special samples from vendors, a Friends of the HFM table with info on how you can help build up this growing market, and more. Stay tuned.

Come and check out Red Eye Roasters - a local coffee roasting company who is bringing to the market freshly roasted beans and just what we needed, some fresh coffee to enjoy as we browse the market. Another new vendor, Ginger Bettys is providing the market with wonderful ginger cookies as well as delicious flatbread pizzas to bring home and cook up for your Saturday night meal. We have a guest vendor this week, Kristen Conway from Starfire Farm in Scituate, who is bringing in alpaca yarn-all natural colors-sport weight. Get your knitting needles ready!

FRESH PRODUCE: Corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, blueberries, snow peas, beets, kale, swiss chard, radishes, zucchini, summer squash, lettuce, kohlrabi, and herbs are in.

DID YOU KNOW?: Here are some other great things you'll find at the market. Jam with native strawberries, raspberry almond cakes, chocolate almond cakes, macaroons, zucchini loaves, fig & nuts granola mix, raisin pecan rye bread, sticky buns, frozen lemonade, live lobsters, pesto, fresh homemade salsa, whoopie pies, flower & vegetable plants, fresh eggs, and fresh cut flowers. Last week we had the pleasure of trying some delicious, authentic Italian cookies...come and taste.

Although our focus is clearly on food, we have included some carefully selected vendors with locally handcrafted items such as jewelry, pottery and furniture. There are also lined baskets for you to fill with items from the market - makes a great gift.

EMAIL LIST: At some point the market will be able to send out an email updating folks on what's in season at the market but until we get to that point, please bookmark our site to your favorites. If you would like to be included on a future mailing list please email us at hinghamfarmersmarket@yahoo.com. Please specify your interest in the market
